frequently asked questions

  • What are your operating hours?

We are open Monday to Friday, from 7am till 6pm.

We are closed all Public Holidays as well as a short Christmas Closure period in December.

Please speak to the Service Manager to get the exact dates for the current year.

  • What age groups do you cater to?

We welcome children from 18 months to 5.5 years. Each age group has a dedicated learning environment designed to support their developmental stage with "Pre-Montessori" and Montessori materials and activities.

  • What is Montessori?

Montessori is an educational philosophy and approach developed by Dr. Maria Montessori.

It focuses on fostering a child's natural curiosity and love for learning through hands-on, self-directed activities. The Montessori method emphasizes independence, respect for a child's individual pace, and a thoughtfully prepared environment that encourages exploration and discovery.

In a Montessori setting, you'll find mixed-age classrooms, specially designed learning materials, and educators who act as guides rather than traditional instructors. This approach aims to develop not only academic skills but also social, emotional, and practical life skills in a holistic way.

  • How are Christian values integrated and embedded in your curriculum?

At Tadala, Christian values are woven into the fabric of our daily routine and educational approach to create a nurturing and spiritually enriching environment for your child.

Here's how we integrate and embed these values:

Daily Bible Readings: We start the day with age-appropriate Bible readings from the children's Bible, sharing stories that highlight important moral lessons and teachings of love, kindness, and compassion.

Praise and Worship: Our curriculum includes regular sessions of praise and worship, where children participate in singing uplifting songs and hymns. This fosters a sense of community and joy while instilling a love for worship.

Prayer Time: Prayer is an integral part of our daily routine. We have designated times for prayers, including morning prayers, before meals, and end-of-day reflections. This helps children develop a habit of communicating with God and expressing gratitude.

Interactions with Everyone: Christian values of love, respect, and empathy are encouraged in all interactions within our center. Our staff models these values in their behavior, and we teach children to treat one another with kindness and understanding.

Celebrating Easter and Christmas: We celebrate Easter and Christmas for their true meanings, focusing on the spiritual significance and teachings behind these holy days. These celebrations are age-appropriate and include activities and stories related to the birth of Jesus and His resurrection. We do not participate in secular events such as Halloween.

Through these practices, we aim to create an environment where children not only learn academic and social skills but also grow spiritually and develop a strong moral foundation rooted in Christian values

  • What qualifications do your educators have?

All our educators are either qualified in early childhood education or actively working towards their qualification, with additional training in the Montessori method and principles.

Our team is dedicated to creating a warm and supportive atmosphere that fosters each child’s curiosity and love of learning.

  • Are the educators trained in first aid and CPR?

Yes, absolutely!  All our staff are First Aid trained, which is not an industry requirement but rather a way of us offering better quality care.

In fact, our staff are so well-trained in First Aid that they could probably bandage a teddy bear with their eyes closed. So please rest assured that your little ones are in safe hands with our team of First Aid superheroes!

  • How do you communicate with parents about their child's progress?

At Tadala, we believe that open and regular communication with families is essential to fostering a strong partnership and ensuring the best experience for your child.

Our preferred method of sharing information about your child's overall day at the Center is through face-to-face interactions. These personal conversations allow us to provide detailed updates, discuss any concerns, and celebrate your child's achievements together.

In addition to face-to-face interactions, we utilise the app "Your Child's Day" to keep you informed about your child's daily routines, including eating, sleeping, and toileting. The app also allows us to share insights into your child's individual learning journey, capturing their progress and milestones. While the information is not in real time, we ensure that it is updated regularly to keep you connected and informed.

By combining these methods, we strive to create a comprehensive and transparent communication system that keeps you involved in your child's growth and development.

  • What is your enrolment process?

Our enrolment process is designed to be straightforward and welcoming. Here are the steps:

    1. Sign up to the waitlist: Start by signing up to our waitlist to express your interest in enrolling your child.

    2. Come in for a tour: We invite you to visit our Centre in person for a tour. This is a great opportunity to see our facilities, meet our educators, and ask any questions you may have.

    3. Receive an offer of enrolment: Once a spot becomes available, we will send you an offer of enrolment.

    4. Orientation days: Before your child officially starts, we schedule 3 FREE orientation days to help them get familiar with the environment and our routines.

    5. Official care commencing: After the orientation, your child's official care will commence, and they will join our Montessori family.

We look forward to welcoming you and your child to our Centre!

  • What is your orientation process?

Our orientation process consists of three short sessions to help your child transition smoothly into our Centre:

First session: This is a 1-hour session where your child attends with an accompanying caregiver. It's a great opportunity for both of you to get familiar with our environment and routines.

Second session: This is a 2-hour session where your child attends on their own. This helps them start to build independence and confidence in the new setting.

Third session: Another 2-hour session where your child attends on their own, further reinforcing their comfort and familiarity with our centre.

These sessions are free of charge and are designed to ensure your child feels secure and happy as they begin their journey with us.

  • What are your immunisation requirements?

We are governed by the "No Jab No Play" legislation in WA that came into effect on 22nd of July 2019. Upon enrolment all children have to submit a current "up to date" or "on a approved catchup schedule" AIR (Australian Immunisation Record). An unvaccinated child can only be enrolled into a childcare if they have a medical exemption or on a approved catch-up schedule.

  • How do you handle food allergies and dietary restrictions?

We take food allergies and dietary restrictions very seriously. Our team works closely with parents to understand each child's specific needs. We ensure that all meals and snacks are prepared with these requirements in mind, and we have strict protocols in place to prevent cross-contamination.

Additionally, our educators are required to complete food safety training as well as allergen awareness training on an annual basis to ensure they remain up to date with the latest practices and research.

Families are encouraged to discuss these food allergies and/or dietary restrictions with the Cook and Service Manager during the enrolment process to ensure we can cater to your little one's individual needs.

It's like a superhero cape for your child's skin, shielding them from harmful rays without any of those pesky chemicals.
